In my reflections on what is important to people when buying their HOME, the question of "Where does the Christmas Tree go?" is a real predicament. There always has to be that special spot for the tree in the home ... and if people can picture it... it is an indication that we may be in the right home for them (even if the purchase is in spring or summer).
We lived in our home for 20 years now, and when we recently renovated, we had to make sure we told the electrician we needed a Christmas tree plug, and of course we adjusted our furniture measurements exactly to what we needed for the Christmas tree, when it is up. All this simply because that is where the tree goes.
Christmas decorations are super important to so many people. They are also very important to me. My Christmas tree decorations have evolved. At first, several years ago when we had our first home... I wanted the tree to look like a department store tree ... It had to be perfect.... Then when I became a parent and the school artwork started coming in... that's what was appearing and of huge importance to us, and that is how it stayed.
One of my biggest joys is a tradition that our aunt in Ireland started with us many years ago. She mails us a silver plated ornament from Ireland form a factory close to her home. I look forward to them every year, and I know Christmas is here, when the Irish ornament makes its way home to us. (by the way, this year's still hasn't arrived, as of today...)
Then there is a question of real trees or fake trees.... Ours is fake, simply because we keep our tree up from late November through to mid/end January.
